Checking over the list of secondary items like LAW's etc, I noticed that Pistols are missing. Are they planned to be added before 1.0?

They certainly wouldn't be that hard to make/add from what I've seen in the structure :)

Would be neat to have something to supplement grenade launcher without having backpack\overweight issue.

Pistols will not be in the vanilla game afaik, but some mods have this. The zombie mod is one of them.

Topic is about pistols, and obviously they would be good with grenade launcher, due to the fact that its secondary weapon and GL is primary.
