Is it too early to ask what pasik has in plan for 0.40?

For one thing, I want to bring out the online mode in 0.4, the phase 1 version of it.

I'm also making some changes in the default map, a few more bases, and bringing new base-specific textures in a few places.

The slider UI is on my list to enable better flow in the menu, also for being able to set the AI soldier count to 0 for online PvP action.

On the more minor side, I absolutely hate the occasional problems the AI has near trenches, that amazingly annoying spinning around as if the guy didn't know which way to go, the one that makes you want to throw a grenade at him. I just have to fix that.

Double radio messages I want to clear out, there's just something that's under evaluation too frequently.

New title graphics are in the making for the game, so this 0.4 will be mostly a finalizing release for alpha period, getting a proper game package in there (installer, splash/loading screen, new title), and like I said, it marks the beginning of the online period.

So, there's not enormously much to do there. I hate estimating release dates, but atm I'd say week at minimum, around two weeks at max. Three weeks would be getting ridiculous, but when dealing with software dev, anything can happen.

Yeah, I was just wondering that too.

He said 3 weeks absolute max, and it's been 2 and a half weeks. There aren't any issues are there?

Having issues is a way of life when it comes to sw dev :) Other than that, I've also spent some time with compiling a new video, more like a trailer really. It shouldn't take more than a couple of days now to get the beta 0.4 out.
