I don't know if this has been suggested before, but I think that machine gun emplacements would be really cool. They could be placed on the trenches and sandbags. At the beginning of each game there would be no MGs placed. There would be a set number of MG placement kits spawned at each base. (5-10) Players could then pick up these kits and place them wherever they want (Trenches, Sandbags, Walls etc.). Once a MG was placed, it could not be moved, but it could be damaged and destroyed. There would be no way to repair these MGs so it would give players a real reason to want to guard and defend the already placed ones. MGs would have limited ammo at first emplacement (1000 rounds?) but could be brought more ammunition from ammo crates just like grenades. They would have a high rate of fire and do tons of damage. The only way to counter attack a MG would be to flank it or use grenades to destroy it.
