There are issues with the way AI man the gun turrets in vehicles. AI gunners only engage when enemies are within their range. The lack of ability to command gunners to shoot at specific targets needs to be addressed.

One time, in a tank, my AI gunner was still busy engaging an infantry 20 yards away. Out of nowhere came an enemy APC that came and stopped just a foot from us and was shooting at us, yet my AI gunner is determined to take out that infantry first, this caused me to die due to this AI. I would like to have a feature where i can at least command gunners to target specific vehicles, commanding gunner to target infantry is good but probably complicates more.

Another thing is to have AI gunner fire even when enemy is not present. At present, AIs only learn to shoot enemies. I would like to have a feature where I can go,"Gunner, fire a round into those sandbags!", "Yes, sir!" could be useful in clearing structures

U are aware u can just right click and your gunner will aim there right? Granted he wont shoot at THAT spot he will still engage most enemies from the way first. Its the job of the driver to maneuver as well in these situations.

And in my opinion(i know it wasn't asked for) the AI are MUCH more reliable of gunners than players. I prefer them in every way ;)

it does not work, AI is designed to continue to lock on to a target as long as within range until it dies. the aiming feature only functions as to preset the turret facing in the direction you want so it doesnt have to waste time rotating back. turrets rotate back to default position when no enemy is in sight, you set the direction so turret engages faster, its not a attack command.

Oh i believe i got you confused. I want the ability for AI to break off engagement. A disengage capability would suffice

Issue the command on yourself, it clears the squad objective. Works similar on foot and in vehicle.
