I've been matching sizes for the most part, though during the cartooning process of the stock images a lot of dimensions got thrown off ;)

Getting there though, thanks :)

No, I haven't. Is GIMP a vector editor? Oh and I added the attachment, forgot to do that immediately.

I'm not sure if it would be considered strictly a "vector editor". It's like the poor mans photoshop (or the turbo-nerd photoshop, for linux, depending on how you look at it).

Yeah, it wouldn't work then. In that case it's a bitmap image editor. Hopefully I'll cover enough in the mapping tutorial for you to be able to use inkscape.

GIMP is like Photoshop a raster graphics editor, while Inkscape is a vector editor.
Calling GIMP a "poor mans PS" is a bit exagerated as for someone not uber-professional, GIMP is definitely good enough. Fro myself I don't use Photoshop anymore since a long while as I wanted to have the most tools possible being open-source.
For most of the graphic stuff I made for RWR I used Inkscape though. Sometimes I mix GIMP and Inkscape too.

Any chance on new videos, or did you give up the tutorials? I just think, that this could be helpful for other people, too (-> sticky topic?!).

Not giving up, just got a job a bit ago and it eats up a lot of free time. That, combined with college leaves me with minimal time to make tutorials. My best bets for working on them are on the weekend.
